      Near to Eurotunnel

No early breakfast - but they did knock off some of the price

Great friendly staff, nice size rooms, breakfast had a good range and choice

Only downside the room was stated as a king, but the bed was a very small double, also the front facing room we had was facing the main through road, so was very noisy with the window open

It was close to the High Street, our room had been recently decorated and improved, the young staff were friendly and dinner and breakfast were fine.

Hotel entrance and lobby area was cramped and grimy. Bookings.com had not communicated our internet booking to the hotel but fortunately they had rooms available, otherwise this would have been extremely annoying

They seemed a bit disorganised when we arrived (possibly our fault for going round the front of the pub instead of using the hotel entrance door, which didn't really look like an entrance) but we soon got to our room. The room was very big and the bathroom looked new and very clean. There was a humming all night from a fan or something near the room, this may disturb some people although I had no problem with it. Breakfast was set out for us with cereals, yogurts, toast etc and the landlady then cooked us some breakfast too. She said if she'd known I was vegetarian she'd have got some veggie sausages in which was nice of her, though I was perfectly happy with scrambled eggs on toast.

Saturdays breakfast was in the oven too long

Friendly, accommodating staff. Food was great, especially the cooked breakfast which got the better of me. Very comfy bed!

Food was of a reasonable standard and staff were particularly friendly.

The infrastructure of the property was depressing and non availabity of food sunday night was not very helpful.

Excellent staff and food. We had breakfast twice and the 'full english' is really good with locally sourced sausage and bacon. The bar area is really nice and the evening meal we had was very good as was the wine on special offer at £9-95 a bottle. The room was very clean and being on the front a bit noisey due to traffic but this didn't bother us.

The reception area is terrible but this shouldn't put you off. The room could do with flatscreen TVs and freeview.

Breakfast and staff were excellent (if slightly worked off their feet!)

We were given a king size bed, however the duvet was only for a regular double.

Used it as a base for the Open Golf Tournament

      Not value for money

Comfortable clean room. Very friendly staff. Good restaurant and breakfast.

Nobody there to check us in. Luckily the electrician was there and gave us our keys. There was some confusion over the room numbers, I.E. they didn't seem too sure about who was staying in which room!

Stayed here as a friend and I were having a spa day locally and couldn't afford the hotel where the spa was. We were very happy and would stay here again, the only downside was that there was no one at the hotel until after 6pm on the day of our arrival, although we were informed of this on the day. Our info had said check in between 11-5 so this meant we had to go shopping around the town to waste some time following our spa, but then us girls never mind some retail therapy!

The room qas good and the bath room first class.

They did not serve food on a Sunday night se we ate somewhere else.

      quality of food very good

would have preferred an option when booking that included an evening meal

we stayed at the Red Lion Hythe so we good visit Howletts Zoo and Port Lympne Wildlife park which we did on seperate days. We then decided to stay on another two days making five days in total as the weather was so good. We also used the buses to visit Folkstone and Canterbury. Taking into consideration you are staying in a pub, staff were friendly, Food was good, we enjoyed our stay and would go back there again.also your only fifteen minutes walk from the sea and Hythe has a quaint high street.

There was only a small Telly in our room with only four chanels available which didn't bother us really, Not a massive car park could be awkward in the summer months, can here sea gulls/gannets sometimes early morning. Can't think of anything else wrong with stay.
